Adventist Health Selma earns A in patient safety for spring 2019

SELMA –Adventist Health Selma has received an A in patient safety for spring 2019 from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit organization that measures healthcare quality and safety. This marks the fourth time in a row that Adventist Health Selma has earned the highest grade. Adventist Health Selma is the only hospital in Fresno County to maintain an A since fall 2017.

“Our top priority is the health and wellbeing of our patients and everyone who walks through our doors,” said Andrea Kofl, president of Adventist Health services in the Central Valley. “To be nationally recognized as an A hospital in patient safety is truly an honor. Adventist Health Selma remains dedicated to meeting the highest safety standards as we fulfill our mission of living God’s love.”

The Hospital Safety Grade assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients in their care. Twenty-eight measures of publicly available hospital safety data are used to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice a year.
