Behavioral health provider joins Adventist Health Sonora clinic

November 19, 2019 (Sonora, Calif.) – Adventist Health Sonora is pleased to announce the addition of Deborah Kagay to its behavioral health practice. Kagay, who is dual board-certified as a family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) and physician assistant (PA-C), cares for patients under the supervision of Randolph Roxas, MD. She provides behavioral health care and medication management for patients age 10 and older and sees patients with depression, anxiety, grief and sleep difficulties.

Kagay attended the Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, earning her degree through the Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Primary Care Associate Program. She earned her registered nursing degree from Rio Hondo College in Whittier, Calif. She is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is certified by and a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

“Being able to open a door of hope and insight and seeing people make positive changes and grow is extremely rewarding,” says Kagay. “It’s important to allow clients to be heard and respected as they journey through their life stages. I want to inspire and encourage others of all ages.”

When not caring for patients, Kagay is devoted to her faith and her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She volunteers extensively and currently serves with Adult Teen Challenge, Adventist Health Hospice and Calvary Chapel Sonora. She also enjoys art, reading, music and the outdoors.

“Celebrating the wonders of life is important to me,” she says.
