Awards & Recognition, Heart Health

Awards Recognize the Medical Center’s Heart Failure and Arrhythmia Programs

Adventist Health St. Helena has received two five-star quality awards in the area of cardiology care from Healthgrades for 2019. The medical center received Five Stars for Treatment of Heart Failure for the fourth year in a row (2016-2019) and Five Stars for Pacemaker Procedures for two years in a row (2018-2019).

Adventist Health St. Helena provides comprehensive heart and vascular care, including treatment for heart failure and arrhythmia conditions, which can require a pacemaker for monitoring or maintaining heart rhythm. The Healthgrades award is based on independently analyzed data that compares actual vs. predicted performance for specific patient outcomes. A five star rating demonstrates that the medical center produces better-than-expected outcomes.

“We are proud of the excellent care we provide and our team works together to ensure we are offering the latest and most effective treatments for heart and vascular conditions,” says John Laird, MD, interventional cardiologist at Adventist Health St. Helena and medical director of the Adventist Heart & Vascular Institute. “While quality recognitions like these are gratifying, we know we are accomplishing our goal when our patients let us know they feel heart healthy and are enjoying life again.”

Adventist Health St. Helena is a central site for the Adventist Heart & Vascular Institute, a multi-disciplinary group of cardiologist, interventional cardiologists, cardiac electrophysiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons. Together, the group provides comprehensive cardiac care and cutting-edge interventional and surgical procedures.
