Dr. Armin Kiankhooy joins Adventist Health Heart and Vascular Institute

Adventist Health St. Helena is pleased to welcome Armin Kiankhooy, MD, to the Adventist Health Heart and Vascular Institute.

Dr. Armin Kiankhooy is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in the most advanced treatments for heart and lung failure and minimally invasive surgical treatments for atrial fibrillation such as the Hybrid Maze procedure.

He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Vermont and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Virginia. He later completed an advanced heart and lung failure fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, with a focus on heart and lung transplantation and mechanical circulatory support, including the total artificial heart.

Dr. Kiankhooy most recently treated patients and was a member of the faculty at the University of Southern California School Keck School of Medicine, where he served as director of MCS/VAD/ECMO and surgery director of wellness. Dr. Kiankhooy is active in research and publishes frequently. He is the recipient of the Etz Chiam Milgrom Award and the Richard J. Hurvitz Excellence in Teaching awards from USC.
