Adventist Health St. Helena temporarily suspends patient care due to Glass Fire

September 28, 2020 (St. Helena, Calif.) – Out of an abundance of caution, Adventist Health St. Helena has temporarily suspended patient care services and evacuated all patients, due to the Glass Fire, President Steven Herber, MD, announced Sunday. A total of 55 patients were transferred to other hospital locations in a safe and orderly manner, and their family members were notified.

“The safety and well-being of our patients and associates are our highest priority,” Herber said.

During the patient care suspension, the emergency department will not be accepting patients, and surgeries and tests will be postponed. Medical offices on the campus will reach out to patients who have appointments. The hospital’s Deer Park Pharmacy has also suspended services, and calls will be forwarded to another pharmacy to help patients with refills.

Other Adventist Health medical offices in St. Helena and Calistoga also have closed due to evacuation orders. Phone numbers are still active for those who would like to make an appointment at another location. Adventist Health medical offices in Napa and Hidden Valley Lake remain open.
