News

Adventist Health Glendale introduces Go Heart, a free community well-being program in partnership with the American Heart Association aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles and improving the overall health of community members in and around Glendale.

Individuals age 18+ are eligible for membership in the free program which will provide activities, education and resources to promote healthy hearts. Among the benefits are:

  • A program that supports your health, longevity, and happiness
  • A monthly calendar of FREE lifestyle activities, events, and health education, that help you learn and explore options that fit YOU
  • Special access to local wellness resources offered by our partners, with benefits such as discounts and unique classes
  • Social support to stay on-track
  • A connection between medicine and lifestyle support as part of your “health team.” Stay healthy and get exceptional care when you need it

Cardiovascular diseases – including coronary heart disease, stroke, and sudden cardiac arrets – claim more lives each year than all forms of cancer and Chronic Lower Respiratory

Disease (CLRD) combined, according to the American Heart Association. Go Heart aims to address the leading causes of cardiovascular diseases through physical activity, nutrition education, and programs to reduce weight, high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol.

“Many of the leading causes of cardiovascular disease can be addressed by taking simple steps in our everyday lives,” says Justin Henderson, director of Community Well-being at Adventist Health Glendale. “Go Heart includes a monthly calendar of free events to strengthen heart and mind, with social support to empower you, your friends, and family. We also help you discover local wellness resources through our partners, including exercise, nutrition, stress management, and smoking cessation. And we offer a self-assessment tool to help you track progress and reach your goals.”
