News

August 3, 2022 (Fowler, Calif.) – Adventist Health Medical Office in Fowler is pleased to welcome Saul Antonio Diaz-Martinez, MD, Pediatrician, who joins our organization in August. Dr. Diaz-Martinez will care for patients at Adventist Health Medical Office in Fowler, California.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Diaz-Martinez treats infants, teens and adolescents up to 21 years old, providing newborn care, routine health check-ups, pre-sports examinations and treatments for asthma and obesity.

Dr. Diaz-Martinez comes to us from the BronxCare Health System’s Department of Pediatrics in New York, where he cared for patients while completing the Pediatric Residency Program. Born and raised in San Miguel, El Salvador, he earned his MD degree from the University of El Salvador, Facultad de Medicina before serving as a Specialist in Pediatric Medicine at Benjamin Bloom Children's Hospital in El Salvador. He then moved to the United States to continue his training in pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.

Dr. Diaz-Martinez participates in numerous research and quality improvement projects and is affiliated with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association. He is also a member of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, and holds certifications in Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Neonatal Resuscitation.

He says he chose pediatrics because he loves being able to watch children grow healthier, both in body and mind. “I believe the work of the pediatrician is to provide an adequate explanation of guidelines to parents, so they can teach their children healthy lifestyles, just as they teach them how to speak and walk,” he says. “It is during this period of time that we can make the greatest difference in the life of a patient.”

In his spare time, Dr. Diaz-Martinez enjoys reading, bike riding and playing soccer with his young son and wife who he refers to as “the center of his life.”

Dr. Diaz-Martinez is accepting new patients and may be reached at the Adventist Health Medical Office in Fowler located at 300 S. Leon S. Peters Boulevard in Fowler. More information and appointments are available by calling 559-834-1614.
